Acer is going to launch more Android phones in 2010

Acer has plans to build more Android based handhelds in 2010. After using Windows Mobile for years the line up of 2010 looks more balanced.

According to Acer:

“There is definitely momentum behind Android. The pace is faster than most would have anticipated one year ago,”

According to thier plans Acer is going to launch 8 to 10 handhelds in 2010. We assume that atleast 5 of them will run Android. Judging the Acer Liquid looks and specs it will be some quality and great phones.

Acer Aspire One D250

I think we all heard about a netbook that Acer is creating. A dual-boot netbook with Microsoft® Windows and Google Android, the design is like any notable netbook its small, portable and cute. But we wonder how does a touchscreen mobile Operating System like Android work on a computer with a monitor, trackpad/mouse and keyboards.

The experiance is a bit different because there are no Android hardbuttons. You'll have to do it with the ESC and trackpad. The Acer Aspire One D250 will boot in Microsoft Windows (XP or Vista) and Google Android. Unfortunately, it cant run Android Market because of its resolution (1024x600) but Acer is planning to release an App Market.

Acer Liquid Announced with a 1GHz SnapDragon CPU

Acer Liquid

It seems to be that Acer is ready to support Android in a really big way. Acer did announce the Acer Liquid, Android phone, the first smartphone of Acer which users Google Android. It uses an Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset running on 1GHz. Its the first Android phone with this chipset so we expect it will be super fast. Besides this fast chipset Acer uses a High Definition WVGA touchscreen and runts Android 1.6 (Donut).

Improved power management to help achieve longer battery autonomy for intense users.
A new user interface with easy access to entertainment and web bookmarks.
An optimized camera with geo-tagging, ISO, self-timer options and accelerated auto-focus performance.
Exclusive Spinlets application providing free streaming of worldwide music and video, that can be shared with friend and family trough web-posting or email.
Smart integration of Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Picasa and Flickr in the address book, with real-time notification of status or content update.

Its too bad that we dont know a date, price, carrier or real info yet. But we are sure that the Acer Liquid will be a great phone with many usefull features. Add a comment

Look what has just popped up for pre-order at Expansys, the folks who perpetually leak lots of lovely devices month in and month out… it’s the Acer A1 Android Phone! This thing has seen MORE than its fair share of leaks and rumors over the past year, so to see this latest development is encouraging to say the least.
