Samsung Galaxy I5700 "Spica" will get the Android 2.1 update in Q2-2010

Since the release of the Samsung Galaxy I5700 "Spica" they used Samsung Galaxy I5700Android 1.5 on this phone. But that will change in Q2-2010. Samsung will release thier first major update to Android 2.1. For those who dont know what the Samsung Galaxy I5700 is, its a mid-level phone with great specs. But it is not for sale in the United States and we doubt it will. How ever here, in The Netherlands, I did see the Spica and it looks like a great phone.

Galaxy 2

Galaxy 2

As we may believe Androphones, Samsung is going to announce the Galaxy 2 smartphone in Februari. If we may believe them it will be a very slick phone which looks very nice. The potential specs are:

  • 1 GHz SnapDragon
  • 3.7-inch AMOLED touchscreen
  • 5MP camera (back)
  • 32 GB of internal memory
  • Android 2.1
  • 3.5 mm jack (for headset use)

We do think that something is not right in the potential specs, the CPU. Samsung normally use their own chips for their phones like in the Samsung Galaxy Spice. But we hope to get more information when it maybe will be announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

Apple iPad

Apple iPad

Finally its there, the Apple iPad. It was a rumor for more then a year and within 60 days you can enjoy this machine. Or not? Because its Apple it will also has its limitations like no: Adobe Flash, Microsoft Silverlight, Sun JAVA. It has no camera, no SD-Card slot and only 16, 32 or 64 gb memory. It has a 9,7-inch touchscreen and a 10 hour of usage with one single battery. The price starts at $499.

I know this is not the Apple minded site but I think it is fair to place this article here, because MSI will also have a tablet which we will be talking about later this week!
