Motorola Motus

Motorola Motus

Just a few weeks after the release of the Motorola Droid and Motorola CLIQ, a new phone has leaked. The Motorola Motus, is shows a bit like the Motorola CLIQ but it comes off with some more sleekness. The keyboard for instance, it looks very flat en the buttons looks really well sized. But it has no d-pad anymore, but the most interesting is that the Motus looks like it could have an interesting slide or flip mechanism.

Here are the 'specs':

  • 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A
  • 512 MB ROM / 256 MB RAM
  • 3.1-inch display (320x480)
  • 5 mp camera (with LED flash)
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 / GPSW
  • Android 1.5 (with MOTOBLUR)
  • GMS 850/900/1800/1900 W-CDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100
  • Reverse flip keyboard
  • Rear directional touchpad

We dont know why they chosen Android 1.5 instead of the 1.6 or 2.0 version. But we think thats it because of the MOTOBLUR interface.

If we have more information about this phone we will put it on the site!

Motorola DROID, sold 250,000 times in the first week
Written by Rick Bonkestoter

Motorola DroidAs you might know the Motorola DROID is a real success in the US. Verizon en Motorola sold more than 100,000 units in the first weekend but it seems to be more than 250,000 units has been sold in less then one week.

That means that this is the most successful Android phone released.

According to Flurry

Through its analytics service, Flurry monitors usage of over 10,000 developers' applications on iPhone and Android. In total, Flurry tracks applications on approximately two out of every three unique iPhone and Android handsets in the market, including over 15,000 million user sessions per day. To estimate first week sales totals for the myTouch 3G, Droid and iPhone 3GS, Flurry detected new handsets within its system, and then made adjustments to account for varying levels of Flurry application penetration by handset.

We would like to see that the Motorola DROID is comming to Europe so we can test it our selfs. But still we believe that this phone is one of the greatest, hopefully there will be a successful launch in Europe also.

Since Verizon is creating the tv ads for the Motorola Droid it seems that Motorola has thier budget expanded for thier Motorola CLIQ with Motoblur. In this tv ad Motorola shows how great thier MotoBlur is.
We think this tv ad show a lot about motoblur what we already know and I think it will be a nice experience for those who can use it. Its an social skin for Android and also ready for Android 2.0 “Eclair”

Finally! After much information about the Motorola Droid (aka Tao and Sholes) we finally get a clean picture of its looks. We expect that this Android phone will be launched first at Verizon. The Motorola Droid will run Android 2.0 (Eclair).

A Close Look At The T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ

Mobile-review got their hands on the T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ and put it through the harsh light, snapping every angle of the device imaginable. Though the Motorola CLIQ doesn't release until November 2nd for $199.99, these high-quality snapshots should provide prospective buyers with a better idea of how the device looks.

Sadly, Mobile-review never managed to activate the device so we don't get a real-life look at how MOTOBLUR actually works. We'll definitely have our own in-depth look of the Motorola CLIQ in the future, so stay tuned! In the mean time feel free to hit the read link for the full gallery or the jump to see more pictures of the Motorola CLIQ!

T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ Off-Contract Price is $449.99

If you were interested in the price of the Motorola CLIQ off-contract, you'll be happy (or is it sad?) to know that it's $449.99. For that gigantic lump sum, you'll be able to avoid a 2-year contract and still enjoy MOTOBLUR to its fullest (but you'll still probably need a data plan).

Luckily, if you don't qualify for the $199 pricing (which we personally feel is too high), there'll be a varied pricing structure depending on the status of your T-Mobile contract--so hopefully not too many of us will have to pay the $449 price.

How do you guys feel about the T-Mobile Motorola CLIQ's price of $199 with 2 year contract and $449 off contract? Will you be buying one?
