Missing features Android 2.0
Written by Rick Bonkestoter
Sunday, 29 November 2009 20:20

Since Android 2.0 was launched specially for the Motorola Droid (Milestone in Europe) we think that there are atleast two missing features. The Google Earth and Google Chrome Sync which where, we think, on the release plan for Android 2.0. We also know that Google is working on Android 2.1 for the Motorola Droid / Motorola Milestone, and we think that these options will be added.. But we are not sure about it.

Google Earth

As you might know, Google Earth mobile is already out for atleast one year on the iPhone and the application recently got an update to version 2.0. Believe it or not but is still not available for Google Android which is thier main mobile operating system on the market.

We think that Google Earth will be available within a few months for Android 2.0 users, maybe for the Android 1.6 users aswel.

Google Chrome Sync

Chrome Sync is the sync tool for bookmarks between Chrome browsers, it has been introduced in Chorme beta 4 and was planned to be released in Android 2.0. We think it will be released when Chrome 4 goes into the final stage. If it is final we will inform you on this website and we will try to get the application for Android 2.0, we also hope it will be available for the Android 1.6 users.

LG GW880

LG GW880

The LG GW880 is the second Android phone of LG which will be released by China Mobile. Surprisingly it will be released in Chine before it is released in the United States or Europe. Like Dell Mini 3i it will run China Mobile's Ophone UI which makes Android easier and look line the iPhone.

The LG GW880 specifications are:

  • 3.5-inch WVGA touchscreen
  • 5MP camera
  • TD-SCDMA for 3G
  • Mobile TV tuning via CMMB
It won't have WiFi, which is not suprisingly with phones that are released by China Mobile. We hope that this phone will also be released in the United States and Europe so we will also get more Android phones. But I dont think this phone will be released in the US nor Europe. Add a comment

Motorola Motus picture and 'specs' pop-ups

Motorola Motus

Motorola Motus

Just a few weeks after the release of the Motorola Droid and Motorola CLIQ, a new phone has leaked. The Motorola Motus, is shows a bit like the Motorola CLIQ but it comes off with some more sleekness. The keyboard for instance, it looks very flat en the buttons looks really well sized. But it has no d-pad anymore, but the most interesting is that the Motus looks like it could have an interesting slide or flip mechanism.

Here are the 'specs':

  • 528 MHz Qualcomm MSM7201A
  • 512 MB ROM / 256 MB RAM
  • 3.1-inch display (320x480)
  • 5 mp camera (with LED flash)
  • Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0 / GPSW
  • Android 1.5 (with MOTOBLUR)
  • GMS 850/900/1800/1900 W-CDMA 850/900/1700/1900/2100
  • Reverse flip keyboard
  • Rear directional touchpad

We dont know why they chosen Android 1.5 instead of the 1.6 or 2.0 version. But we think thats it because of the MOTOBLUR interface.

If we have more information about this phone we will put it on the site!

Fring is a very popular application on the iPhone. And now it also came for the Android phones. It has many worthy competitors, plenty of people still prefer this app.

This is what the Fring company says about its application in Android Market:
