Xperia X10

s we already tought, Sony Ericsson has announced thier first Android driven phone. The Xperia X10. It has a 4 inch touchscreen, 8.1 mp camera and the 'Rachael' UI. Sony Ericsson is planning a whole line of phones using 'Rachael' UI, where the Xperia X10 stands for the flagship. They are maybe also planning to port the 'Rachael' UI to thier Symbian phone and maybe also to Windows Mobile.

The Xperia X10 is using Andoid 1.6 "Donut" with thier own Motoblur clone, Timescape. Its a sosial networking integration that works with all of your social networks. Mediascape, the Media player within 'Rachael' UI and face recognition for auto tagging photos by recognizing your friends.

There is only one problem. The 'Rachael' UI seems to be a proof-of-concept than a actual program thats ready for the consumer. But we have to admit we would like to have a release data, price and carrier.

Samsung Behold II

Samsung Behold II

The Samsung Behold II is a nice Android phone. But they named it after a dumbphone and why? We dont know and I think we never will. The Behold II will run Samsung's TouchWiz interface, will have a 3.2 inch AMOLED-display and a 5 megapixel camera. The design looks like those from the Samsung Galaxy the only difference is that it wil run TouchWiz for better multitasking.

Since Verizon is creating the tv ads for the Motorola Droid it seems that Motorola has thier budget expanded for thier Motorola CLIQ with Motoblur. In this tv ad Motorola shows how great thier MotoBlur is.
We think this tv ad show a lot about motoblur what we already know and I think it will be a nice experience for those who can use it. Its an social skin for Android and also ready for Android 2.0 “Eclair”

Microsoft Zune

Microsoft Zune

For the first time ever I have to say that Sony Ericsson is creating a hell of a phone if they use this media player. As we all know the default media player of Android is not that much. From the concept video the have made a media player which looks fresh and good. It looks a bit like the Microsoft Zune player but still manage to come off like its own.

Google introduces free Turn-by-Turn navigation software
Written by Rick Bonkestoter

Google has just announced Google Maps Navigation for Android 2.0 “Eclair”. With this application the users of Android will get free Turn-by-Turn navigation software. Its almost the same as Google Maps but it will offer a 3D view also, the other features are turn-by-turn voice guidance and automatic rerouting. The only minor issue is that it uses continues internet connection. Just like AndNav and Nav4All. But the benefits are:

  • Always have the most recent maps and business data

  • Search with the power of Google (no need to know exact address, Google can do the legwork)

  • Search by voice

  • Live traffic data just like you see in the current Google Maps with real-time information

  • Search along route allows you to search for results that won't take you far from your route

  • Satellite View -- high resolution, 3D view of your route

  • Street View -- you'll be able to see where you need to turn, what your final address is, etc

With this application Google will make a big step into the turn-by-turn navigation area but will they break the competition? We will see, won't we?

Google introduces us to Android 2.0 “Eclair” SDK
Written by Rick Bonkestoter
Thursday, 29 October 2009 00:00
On 27th of october, Google announced the Android 2.0 “Eclair” SDK for developers. With this build for the users, we think that its a mather of time for that Android 2.0 is comming to the phones. The first phone with Android 2.0 “Eclair” will be the Motorola Droid.

These features you can expect to be implemented.

  • Multiple accounts can be added to Android for contact and email sync (devs can create sync adapters that provide sync with additional data sources)

  • Quick Contact gives quick access to actions (call, SMS, email, maps, etc) for your Contacts (accessible in Contacts, Email, Messaging, and Calendar)

  • Unified email inbox to support multiple accounts on one page

  • Exchange support

  • Search through all SMS/MMS messages

  • Android keyboard is improved

  • Refreshed UI with actionable browser URL bar enables users to directly tap the address bar for instant searches and navigation. Browser can also double-tap to zoom and there's support for HTML5

  • expanded Camera offerings: Built-in flash support, Digital zoom, Scene mode, White balance, Color effect, and Macro focus

  • Improved Calendar

Combining these features with those of Android 1.6 “Donut” and all the tweaks there are you will get a winning phone-os. We hope Google will release it soon for its users and to the manufactures!
