Eclair

After that Motorola and Verizon announced thier Android 2.0 "Eclair" handsets, HTC is also announcing that they will come with it soon. In fact, HTC said that they've had Android 2.0 in-house for a while now and they are definitely able to develop phones for the much anticipated Android build.

We've seen the Android 2.0 screenshots already and its definitely build on the Android platform improves the experience. Hopefully there will follow more information soon!

HTC launches You TV Campaign
Written by Rick Bonkestoter

A couple of years ago HTC was a small company which produces smartphones with Windows Mobile. Almost no-body knew this company. Today the day if you ask what HTC is, almost, everyone will answer it is a smartphone producer.
They support Windows Mobile and Google Android as thier main operating systems, which makes them one of the biggest producers of smartphones in the world. They are the biggest Android player at this moment.

Now they decided that they need some publicity, which I agree with. So HTC launched its 'You' advertisment campaign on the TV. The 'You' tv ad campaign is what I believe to be thier first mainstream consumer marketing which works wonderfull. Just take a look at the commercial.

"You don't need to get a phone. You need a phone that gets you".

HTC Dragon - Front

HTC Dragon - Front

While Verizon is attacking the Apple iPhone, we are more interested in what HTC has in store for future Android phones. And at this time we discovered that there is a brand new, unknown HTC Android phone. What could the name be? Dragon?

From what we know is that the screen looks great, the phone seems to have a flash and that the Android hardware buttons look sensitive and there is a omnipresent trackball. We hope this is the HTC Dragon, equipped with a Snapdragon chipset running on 1 GHz just like the HTC Touch HD 2.

Samsung I5700

Samsung I5700

The Samsung I5700 Galaxy Lite has been spotted much. The Samsung I5700 is called the Samsung Spica in Italy.
Some solid specs:

  • 3 inch AMOLED touchscreen (384x240)
  • 528MHz Qualcomm CPU
  • 3.2 Megapixel camera (with Auto Focus)
  • GPS, FM-radio, accelerometer
  • 1500 mAh battery

The Samsung I5700 is a great phone, but the looks are a sligh not-done in my opinion.

Acer Aspire One D250

Acer Aspire One D250

I think we all heard about a netbook that Acer is creating. A dual-boot netbook with Microsoft® Windows and Google Android, the design is like any notable netbook its small, portable and cute. But we wonder how does a touchscreen mobile Operating System like Android work on a computer with a monitor, trackpad/mouse and keyboards.

The experiance is a bit different because there are no Android hardbuttons. You'll have to do it with the ESC and trackpad. The Acer Aspire One D250 will boot in Microsoft Windows (XP or Vista) and Google Android. Unfortunately, it cant run Android Market because of its resolution (1024x600) but Acer is planning to release an App Market.

Finally! After much information about the Motorola Droid (aka Tao and Sholes) we finally get a clean picture of its looks. We expect that this Android phone will be launched first at Verizon. The Motorola Droid will run Android 2.0 (Eclair).
